One Saturday I ventured off campus with babe attached to me and a sweet girl next to me. We were picked up by a third friend and whisked across the Bosphorous by ferry and up into the hills of Istanbul by cab to an arena.
In that arena there were volleyball players, some of the best this country has to offer. But, even better than that was the Ukrainian dance team that performed between games. The Red Hots! With a costume change for each number (more than Harrison), they were certainly hot, but not always red.
The volleyball was great and fun to watch with good friends. I also got a little serving in during one of the pre-game competitions (although my competition couldn't serve the ball over the net) - I think the announcer wasn't sure he chose the right person since I had to pass the baby off before coming down to the court. Both of us came away with some key chains and a calendar from the sponsor. I guess I should get myself some more keys.
To be continued...(hoping to get some video of the dancers).
Sounds like a fun day. Passing off the baby to do anything sounds very familiar.
ReplyDeleteSince you slammed your competition, did you feel like you ought to be included in the actual game?
